How to get to Toledo from Madrid by train

The faster and more comfortable way to go from Toledo to Madrid is to take the high-speed train AVE that leaves from the Atocha Station, the main one of the capital that is also very well connected by subway with line 1 (blue color), which crosses the entire city center.
To get to Toledo you will have to take an AVANT train that will take you to the train station, located near the historic center, in just over 30 minutes, for about 14 euros.
Although trains leave every hour, it is advisable, especially on weekends and parties, to buy tickets at most the day before, so as not to run out of space and to choose the schedule that suits you.
Once you arrive at the Toledo station you can walk, in about 20 minutes to the old town, first crossing the beautiful Alcantara Bridge and going up some escalators to the Plaza de Zocodover.

Another option is to take from the station an urban bus that leaves you in this square or a taxi that costs around 5 euros.

Bus from Madrid to Toledo

The cheapest way to get from Madrid to Toledo is to take a bus from the ALSA company that leaves from the Elliptical Plaza station.
To get to this station you have line 6 (gray color) and line 11 (green color) subway.

These buses will leave you on the Avenida de Castilla-La Mancha de Toledo, located near the escalators that take you to the Plaza de Zocodover, in the heart of the city, in 50 minutes for 5.5 euros or 10 euros, if round trip shopping.
