Our trip to Ghent, Leuven and Antwerp offered us the opportunity to return to Belgium for the second time, to tour part of the Flemish cities that had been pending on our previous trip to Belgium.
This 4-day trip to Belgium has taken us to Ghent, Leuven and Antwerp, where we based in Brussels the last 2 nights to visit Leuven and Antwerp from there.
The best time to visit Ghent, Leuven and Antwerp is in spring or autumn, times when the weather is still benevolent and the hordes of tourists are no longer as present as in the high season that are the summer months.
Ghent is a city that can be visited in one day and visit its best known attractions such as Graslei, Korenmarkt, Belfort Tower, Sint-BaafsKathedraal, Het Gravensteen, Stadhuis, The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb ... but we recommend spending there if possible, at least one night, since it is a totally different city once the sun sets. Enjoy its streets, in the light of the street lamps is one of the most beautiful experiences you can take with you in the city.
Leuven and Antwerp could be visited both in one day, early in the morning and taking advantage of the sunny hours if traveling in summer time. Although we recommend, if possible, dedicate one day to each one, since both deserve that time.
