BANGKOK GUIDE FOR BACKPACKERS

Bangkok is paradise for backpackers around the world ... or not? I think everyone who has visited Bangkok can join one of these two groups:

  • Those who are in love with her.
  • Those who relate it to sex tourism, crazy and drunken parties, scams, etc.

Our opinion? That the second category is too reductive: it would be like saying that Italy is a mafia, Berlusconi, pizza and pasta, and that Spain is flamenco, corruption, tapas and nap ... In addition, few cities have seemed more complete: The capital of Thailand is one of the best backpackers destinations Thanks to the Khao San Road area where among temples, pinchitos, 7eleven, multicolored shirts and happy-hippie bars you can spend hours planning or remembering your trip.

And if you are among those who love skylines or are attracted to Asian luxury, you will love the financial area full of shopping malls and bars on the top floors of the largest skyscrapers. There is no lack of green areas and (for us expendable) red areas. But if there is something that everyone agrees with, it is the architectural beauty of its temples and its culture, which is not by chance the capital of the country of "smiles" (eye that we also find fake and interested smiles but in the end, we continue on planet Earth!).

And what about his smell? The overwhelming humidity of the air joins the thousands of flavors of Thai cuisine from curries to noodles, to skewers of roasted meat, to the smoke of tuktuks that skid through their streets. Yes, Bangkok has its own smell. It's not bad, nor good, it's yours ... we could recognize it with our eyes closed.

Definitely: Bangkok we love it.

We have prepared this Bangkok backpackers guide to help you get to know the city of angels better: it is made up of different chapters to make reading easier (if you don't go to hell!).
